GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:13
THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL
Salvation is God’s gift to you through His Son, Jesus Christ.
GOD LOVES YOU
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
God created you and loves you.
God wants you to know Him personally and have eternal life.
WE ARE ALL SINNERS
Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
We have all sinned.
We cannot save ourselves.
SIN HAS A PENALTY
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
The payment for our sin is death.
We deserve eternal death in Hell.
CHRIST PAID YOUR DEBT
Romans 5:8
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jesus Christ took the punishment for your sin.
He died on the cross, was buried, and rose again the third day.
SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT
Ephesians 2:8-9
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Salvation is not earned.
Salvation is a free gift from God received by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ.
BELIEVE ON JESUS TODAY
Romans 10:9
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Admit you are a sinner.
Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose again.
Call upon Him in faith, trusting Christ alone to save you.
WHAT MUST I DO?
The Bible teaches that to be saved, you must:
Recognize that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23)
Believe on the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 10:9-10)
By faith call upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save you. (Romans 10:13)
A SAMPLE PRAYER YOU CAN PRAY
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that You died for me, were buried, and rose again to pay my sin debt. I trust You today as my Savior to take me to heaven when I die. Please forgive me of my sins and save me. Thank You for the gift of eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
YOU CAN KNOW YOU ARE SAVED
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” John 5:24
